This is a church staff member role and is expected to work closely with all other staff members and volunteers. Our goal is to expand on our music program, creating a blended worship experience of traditional and contemporary music styles. Specific Responsibilities: a.Develop, oversee and direct adult choirs, and supervise/coordinate the work of the children’s choir. b.Instruments currently include Organ and Piano. c.Utilize volunteers as is feasible. d.In co-ordination with the pastor, select choir anthems appropriate for the church year. e.Maintain scheduled rehearsals for all choirs. f.Purchase new music as needed, within budget; keep all music organized for easy access. g.Utilize the musical talents of those in the church who play musical instruments and actively recruit new choir members. h.Plan special music for all worship services of the church, including special services such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Renewal services as requested. i.Provide a varied selection of music types.
