Part Time Organist and Choir Director
Duties include (1)working closely with the rector to select hymns and anthems that enhance worship;(2)conducting a choir rehearsal once a week;and (3)playing the organ at the 9:30AM Sunday service. St Mark's has all tools needed for an excellent music program: a 1945 Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ, 3 octaves of handbells,an extensive library of sacred music, and a dedicated choir. 12-15 hours per week, salary negotiable.

Director of Traditional Music and Worship
First United Methodist Church, Gastonia, NC is seeking a Full-Time Director of Traditional Music and Worship The successful candidate will be responsible for casting a vision for the traditional music and worship ministries for this 1,400-member downtown United Methodist Church. Additional responsibilities include cultivating a Christlike culture of family within the traditional music and worship ministries; directing or supervising directors of the music ministry’s twelve choirs and ensembles (adults, youth, children, handbells, and brass); overseeing the care and updating of the church’s extensive music library; monitoring all music and worship licenses and related reporting; partnering with music ministry staff and others to oversee care of musical instruments; and coordinating musical needs for funerals, weddings and special programs. The Director will report to the Lead Pastor of Worship, Care, and Administration and collaborate with him and other music ministry staff in worship planning to ensure that music selections complement worship themes. Additional worship duties are outlined in the results-based job description. A Bachelor’s Degree in Music is required as is a minimum of five years’ experience along with computer skills knowledge. Personal qualifications include being a follower of Jesus Christ, having a teachable spirit and hunger for continuing education, and proven team building experience.
