So Much to Sing About

The Charlotte area’s sacred music community is coming together for a one-day choral retreat and workshop, hosted by the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians. Held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hickory, this event is open to adult choir members and directors of all denominations.

Participants will enjoy a day filled with choral singing, workshops, and meaningful fellowship, led by respected regional clinicians: Philip Biedenbender, Mark Glaeser, Jennifer Hough, Mark Johanson, and Andrew Robinson. Together, we’ll explore new repertoire for fall and Christmas, engage in practical learning on volunteer ministry and vocal health, and conclude the day with a shared Service of Word and Music in the sanctuary.

Workshops include:

• All About Volunteers (Mark Glaeser) – Recruiting, retaining, and supporting singers of all ages

• The Maturing Voice (Jennifer Hough) – Encouragement and care for aging vocalists

• AGO Orgelkids Kit – Advocacy and hands-on education about the pipe organ
