Qualifications: Bachelor of Music or equivalent experience required. Masters Degree (or higher) preferred. Excellent keyboard skills; organ specialization strongly preferred. Previous experience as a church organist. Working knowledge of organs.

  Provide organ and/or piano music in a professional manner for two traditional morning worship services and other special and seasonal services throughout the year. 
  Facilitate the congregation to sing and worship through creative inspiring hymn accompaniments.
  Coordinate special musical offerings by encouraging the musical talents and participation of members of congregation and/or guest artists.
  Accompany and rehearse with soloists, guest musicians and work with the Director of Worship Arts in rehearsal with the youth choir and other ensembles as necessary.
  Accountable to the Senior Pastor and Director of Worship Arts; liaison to the Worship and Music Committee
  Assist Director of Worship Arts with worship planning.
  Arrange for qualified substitute organists/pianists when absent.
  Accompany the Sanctuary Choir and youth choir at weekly and special rehearsals and other ensembles as needed.
  As appropriate, provide organ music for weddings and funerals at the church. Additional fees may be paid to the organist for performance at these events.
  Assist the Director of Worship Arts as needed in the daily work of the Worship Arts Department, performing administrative tasks assigned by the Director. The combination of musical tasks and administrative work will require 28 to 30 hours or more each week.  
  Direct choir in absence of Director of Worship Arts. Plan music for and direct Handbell Choir rehearsals. 
  As appropriate, work with the pianist and the Director to specify and oversee the evaluation, tuning, and maintenance of all musical instruments in the church, working within the approved budget.

Additional Info: Holy Communion Lutheran Church has one 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. Our Adult Choir is small, but faithful, and rehearses once weekly. Exhibit exceptional rehearsal skills, including the ability to confidently play from an open score, exceptional sight reading, play individual parts in all keys and rhythmic combinations with accuracy. Additional Info: Robinson Presbyterian church is a small but vibrant congregation that recently celebrated its 125th anniversary. The small but capable choir sings for Sunday services and once a year presents a services of Lessons & Carols. The Handbell Choir rehearses from 7:00-7:40pm on Wednesday evenings and makes use of a 4 octave set of Malmark bells and 2 octave set of chimes. The Chancel Choir rehearses from 7:45-8:45pm on Wednesday evenings and a warm-up at 10:45 am on Sunday. The Sanctuary instruments are a 2 manual Viscount organ installed in 2006 with custom digital samples and voicing (for list of stops go to robinsonservice@gmail.com) and a 5’ Kranich & Bach grand piano. Two upright pianos and a Yamaha “Digital Grand” keyboard are also on the campus. During June, July and August only the Chancel Choir rehearses at 10:30am on Sunday mornings.
