Holy Trinity is seeking a faithful Believer who is prepared to help others approach God in worship of various styles, is able to help others know God through his Word, and is able to inspire and equip others to grow in these areas. Holy Trinity has two Sunday morning worship services, each with different musical styles and levels of formality: Contemporary and Traditional. The Director of Music Ministries is responsible to plan and lead/oversee inspiring music at all worship services, including Sunday worship and other events such as funerals, weddings, conferences, etc. The traditional worship music is typically led by pipe organ and a choir using liturgies of the Lutheran church. The contemporary worship music is typically led by a praise team, and is music that is written and performed by contemporary artists within in the past ten years. The Director of Music Ministries works with the Lead Pastor to plan all worship services, and then prepare worship materials such as printed bulletins, projection files, and other leaders? materials. Depending on the skill set of the qualified candidate, a part-time organist or praise team leader may be hired to complement those skills. The Director of Music Ministries is ultimately responsible for planning, rehearsals, and leadership of all music ministries. The music ministries of Holy Trinity also include a handbell choir, youth praise team, youth worship service, and children?s music. The music component of this position does not require a full 40 hour/week. Another component of this position is to oversee an Adult Christian Education program, which includes Sunday School, small group ministries, and occasional teaching. Discipleship and disciplemaking are important values to Holy Trinity, and this position requires expertise in these areas as well as music ministries.

First Presbyterian Church (PCUSA), is a vibrant and happy congregation looking for a part time organist. The organ, Opus 104, was built by Gabriel Kney and Associates of London, Ontario, in 1986, and is designed to lead the congregation in glorious singing, to accompany the choir and to perform in recitals. It is tracker action but has combination action to make it accessible for different periods of music. It has two manuals and 26 ranks of pipes. There is one service a week with choir rehearsal on either Tuesday or Wednesday evening at 6:30, which is flexible. Occasionally, the organist will be expected to accompany soloists and small instrumental ensembles. This individual will serve as organist at weddings and funerals. Weddings and funerals are a source of additional income for the organist. The church has both a wedding and funeral policy. The organist will collaborate with the choir director and pastor to plan for services. Special services include Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. The organist may accompany the children's choir as they sing in a worship service (with a short rehearsal before they sing). The position is open Sunday, April 23, 2017. The congregation has long valued its commitment to excellence in music in its traditional worship, graded choral program, hand bell ensembles, and seasonal musical offerings which may include other community singers and instrumentalists.
Responsibilities include providing service music for one Sunday morning worship service each week, and serving as accompanist for Sanctuary, Children, and Youth choirs for performances and rehearsals. Superior sight reading skills are desired. Unity Presbyterian Church is a growing PCUSA congregation of over 1200 in Fort Mill, SC. The church is proud of its vibrant music program and seeks a part-time organist with the musicianship and repertoire to best present the glorious sounds of our Aeolian Skinner organ to the congregation and the worship of our Lord. There are two Sunday services at 8:45 and 11:00, with the 40 voice Chancel Choir singing at 11:00. In addition to playing for services, duties include accompanying the Chancel Choir at their Wednesday night rehearsal, accompanying soloists and small ensembles at 8:45, and accompanying sectional rehearsals as needed. This individual will serve as organist for weddings, funerals and special services during Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter as well. The position may be asked to substitute as accompanist for children's choirs on occasion. Attendance at meetings of the Worship and Music Ministry Team will be expected. The position will report to the Director of Music with a strong collaborative relationship with the Senior Pastor. While the essence of the position is organist/accompanist, a positive, supportive and ministerial view of music is important and this position will be an integral part of the church's staff.
