Kobe YMCA Handbell Choir, Sunday, August 10, 2008 7:00 PM Providence United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC Since its establishment in 1980 as the first handbell choir in Kobe, Japan, the Kobe YMCA Bellchoir has been active in and outside of Japan under the direction of Nozomu Abe. Davidson United Methodist Church is presenting a recital titled A Youthful Perspective that includes music and presentations for children, youth, and adults. The program is in celebration of the American Guild of Organists International Year of the Organ and will be held in conjunction with other Organ Spectacular Concerts worldwide. The program will include A Sweet for Mother Goose by George Akerley, In Mystery and Wonder by Dan Locklair, Blithely Breezing By by Stephen Paulus, and Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by J.S. Bach and will feature organist Katie Ann McCarty, newly appointed Associate Director of Music and Organist at Davidson United Methodist Church. The concert will be held on Sunday October 14th, 4:00 P.M at DUMC, 233 Main St., Davidson, NC 28036. The event is free and childcare will be provided for young children.
